Between numbness and vulnerability

Between numbness and vulnerability
Exploring (dis)connection and (dis)empowerment through the Healthy Human Culture lens.

Do you feel disconnected, numb, unwilling to let the world in?  Does entertainment, food, etc. become a door behind which to shut down the door?  Or are you rather feeling "too much" and everything all at once, leaving you raw, wounded, exposed, even if your life seems "ok"?  Or both?

In this Healthy Human Culture workshop we explore our individual and collective experiences along the axis of dis-connection. How does disconnection show up in our bodies and daily lives? How does modernity and all its entanglements condition our sense of separation at individual, collective, and systemic levels? What role do power and agency play?  How does it impact our sense of self, the story of who we are, and how we shop up in the world?

Come explore these enquiries with us... In a time when many of us are grappling with complex global challenges, understanding numbness, disconnection and dissociation and the role they play at all levels — in ourselves, our relationships, and our wider systems — becomes increasingly vital. Our intention for this workshop is to co-create compassionate ways of relating to these experiences through individual and group enquiry using the Healthy Human Culture map, embodiment practices and more.

Workshop Offering

In this workshop, we'll create a supportive space to:

  • Explore where numbness / disconnection appears in our lives and around us, and where it might originate, with the HHC map as a guide for understanding personal and systemic patterns

  • Practice embodied ways of working with disconnection that honour both our challenges and our capacity for healing

  • Learn practical tools for building healthier relationships and group cultures

  • Connect with others who are exploring similar questions about culture, power, and healing

  • Discover how understanding systemic patterns can help us respond more skillfully to burnout, conflict, and collective challenges

Through guided exercises, group discussion, and experiential learning, we'll develop insights and practices that you can bring into your daily life, work, and communities.
